Taylor Carles             Taylor Carles, an eighth-grader at Pepperell Middle School, has been named to serve on the 2015 Student Advisory Council of State School Superintendent Richard Woods.  Carles is one of 64 Georgia students selected to participate in the group that will provide a student focus to policy decisions on education at the state level.

Taylor and the other students will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies on students in the classroom and other issues related to education.  The teens will also serve as the superintendent's ambassadors to their respective schools and communities.  Meetings of the Student Advisory Council will be held on
February 27March 11, and April 28 of this school year.

Taylor was selected from a pool of over 1000 students who applied to serve on the council.  Students were chosen based on the strength of their essays submitted with their applications.  The essays focused on ways the student's educational experience could be improved.

BoxTops

Collecting Box Tops is a very easy way to help our school! You might think they are only
worth 10 cents, but when collected by many, they really add up! This was with only a small
portion of our school population participating. Just think what we could do if everyone clipped
those little rectangles!  You can find Box Tops on thousands of your favorite products,
from cereals to Avery Office Products to Hanes T-shirts to printer paper.
